About FBC Clearwater

Our History - First Baptist Church of Clearwater has a rich and faithful legacy dating back to September 9, 1876,

when a small group of believers gathered with a shared vision: advancing the kingdom of Jesus Christ. From its

earliest days, the church has been devoted to worship, the preaching of the Gospel, Christian living, and

reaching others through evangelism and missions. For nearly 150 years, God has sustained and grown this

congregation. We are excited about the future, believing our best days of ministry are still ahead of us, and

inviting others to join us on this journey.

Who We Are - First Baptist Church is a welcoming and relational community where people are known, loved,

and encouraged in their walk with Christ. We strive to be a church that lifts up Jesus, teaches God’s Word

faithfully, and lives out our faith in everyday life. We are large enough to have active and meaningful ministries

for all ages, yet small enough that every person matters and can find a place to belong and serve.

Mission Statement - Our mission is to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ by loving God, lifting up Jesus, and

loving our neighbors through worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and gospel-centered relationships.

Ministries and Activities - Sunday Worship and Sunday School; Youth Ministry; Children’s Ministry (Kids for

Christ); Wednesday Night Ministries; Adult Bible Studies; Worship and Music Ministry; Senior Adult Ministry.

Community and Culture - We value authenticity, spiritual growth, and service. We aim to be a church where

people grow in their relationship with Christ, families are strengthened, students are discipled and equipped for

life, every member uses their gifts to serve others, and the gospel is shared in our community and beyond.

Affiliations and Beliefs - First Baptist Church of Clearwater is a Southern Baptist church committed to the

authority of Scripture and aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as its doctrinal statement.
