Our Vision

At the First Baptist Church of Clearwater, we believe God is building a community identified by love. It is a community where each member is using their Spirit-given gifts to serve one another. It is a community that feasts on the truth of God’s Word. It is a community that is committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world in need of Him. It is a community that strives to be authentic; desiring to bring glory to God by depending solely on his all sufficient grace. Can you envision this kind of community?

What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, who died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy. God came into history in Jesus Christ; he died in order to destroy the power of hell and death and Satan and sin; and he delivers us, as we, by His grace, believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are people reading this who are not trusting Jesus Christ, and therefore can only expect condemnation. Lay down the rebellion of sin and self, repent and simply embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died for your sins. He was raised on the third day, triumphant over all his enemies, and He will come again to finally destroy death and the grave. Forgiveness of sins and a right standing with God come freely through him alone, by faith alone. Do not try to be strong in your own strength; it will not be there when you need it. Only the strength that God gives according to the gospel will overcome death and the grave. Don’t put it off. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

Our Mission

By God’s grace and for His glory, we endeavor to build a Christ exalting community, equipping believers with a Biblical world-view, and reaching out to people in need with the good news of Jesus.

God has not destined you for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for you so that whether you wake or sleep you will live with him. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10
